Previously used to chart my Trans America cycle ride from Argentina to Alaska, 2009 sees the return of The Mountain Cycle Diaries as a new set of challenges have emerged.
After 3 years of getting faster both on my bicycle and on my feet I have voted with my heart: I have left the daily corporate grind behind. I am going to give it a go and take on the young guns trying my luck as a full time athlete.
The challenges I have set are across a number of disciplines a full outline of which can be viewed on the “Schedule,” which will be updated shortly.
Highlights will include racing the World Cup X-Terra Series and World Championships, Half Ironman’s, running the Annapurna circuit and London Marathon and a stab at getting on the top step at the Mountain Mayhem 24 Hour Solo Bike Race.
Alongside the freshest bicycles from Independent Fabrication and the leading lights from Exposure I have some new sponsors helping me on my way – more of which to follow.
The Mountain Cycle Diaries is not meant to be just another blog charting training and racing but is somewhere that you can hopefully pop into and experience an alternative take.
